Final Project
Since I love special effects makeup, specifically creating zombies, I knew right away I wanted to create a zombie mask for my final project.

I began the sculpt by focusing on the orbital area. Sculpt made using non-sulfurated plasticine clay

The main feature I wanted to add to the face was a scar across the eye.

These light wrinkles gave some texture to the forehead, but they were not very realistic.

These wrinkles were more 3-dimensional, but they made the piece too distracting and took away from the scar.

I thought I wanted to make a dislocated jaw, but it was not coming out the way I wanted it to.

I smoothed out the jaw, but kept some pronounced jaw bone. I also added some light wrinkling to the forehead again.

I added some texture to the inside of the scar to add to the depth of it.

There weren't any boxes big enough for my sculpt so I made my own mold out of duct tape, boxing wax, and extra pieces of cardboard.

I decided to make the final piece out of silicon to get a flesh-like texture. I probably should have made separate eye and jaw pieces. I wish I had used a material that would pick up more detail in the scar and have less bubbles. If I had colored the silicone to match my skin, it would have been easier to color as part of a makeup.
